Methods for the determination of thirteen fungicide and insecticide residues by solid-phase extraction with C18 and graphitized carbon black (GCB) were evaluated.
The recoveries were determined by fortifying six different crops (apples, oranges, pears, tomatoes, lettuces and paprikas) with the pesticides studied (bromopropylate, chlorpyrifos methyl, cypermethryn, deltamethryn, fenarimol, fenvalerate, imazalil, lindane, permethryn, phentoate, procymidone, propiconazole and vinclozoline).

The triazole fungicides chosen for this multiresidue method development project included propiconazole, fenbuconazole and its RH-9129 and RH-9130 metabolites, cyproconazole, difenoconazole, tebuconazole and its HWG 2061 metabolite, hexaconazole, bromuconazole (both stereoisomers), epoxiconazole, tetraconazole, triticonazole and its RPA-404886 and RPA-406341 metabolites, triadimefon, triadimenol, and myclobutanil.
All samples we cleaned up by a combination of C18 solid-phase extraction (SPE), mixed-mode cationic SPE, and mixed-mode anionic SPE columns.

The group of pesticides comprised benzimidazoles and azoles (carbendazim, thiabendazole, imazalil, propiconazole, prochloraz, epoxiconazole, flusilazole, tebuconazole, bitertanol); N-methylcarbamates (carbaryl, carbofuran, methiocarb); and phenylureas and benzoylphenylureas (linuron, diflubenzuron, triflumuron, teflubenzuron, flufenoxuron).
LC separation of pesticides was performed on a reversed-phase column, Discovery C18.

The feasibility of using liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC/ESI-MS/MS) for determining 8 fungicides (triadimenol, penconazole, propiconazole, hexaconazole, cyproconazole, myclobutanil, fenarimol, and bitertanol) in extracts of tomato puree and lemon juice concentrate has been evaluated.
Chromatographic determination has been performed using a C18 column and isocratic elution.
