16729998 | Roomi MW, Gaal K, Yuan QX, French BA, Fu P, Bardag-Gorce F, French SW: Preneoplastic liver cell foci expansion induced by thioacetamide toxicity in drug-primed mice. Exp Mol Pathol. 2006 Aug;81(1):8-14. Epub 2006 May 24. Mice primed by feeding griseofulvin or diethyl 1,4-dihydro 1,4,6-trimethyl 3,5- decarboxylate for 5 months followed by drug withdrawal for 1 month (drug-primed mice) were given thioacetamide intraperitoneally, and the livers were subsequently studied at intervals up to 7 days. Preneoplastic foci were localized using immunofluorescence stain for glutathione S-transferase (GST mu) and histochemical stain for gamma glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT). |

2731154 | Vincent SH, Smith AG, Muller-Eberhard U: Modulation of hepatic heme-binding Z protein in mice by the porphyrogenic carcinogens griseofulvin and hexachlorobenzene. Cancer Lett. 1989 May;45(2):109-14. In contrast, both treatments caused a greater than 4-fold increase in the immunoreactive levels of glutathione S-transferase isozymes (GST) which like HBP also bind heme. |

12678289 | Haisah AH, Elsheikh HA, Khairi HM, Salam Abdullah A, Rajion MA: Effect of griseofulvin on the toxicity of signal grass (Brachiaria decumbens) in sheep. Vet Hum Toxicol. 2003 Mar;45(2):68-71. Griseofulvin oral administration of 5 mg/kg body weight for 5 consecutive days every other week for 10 w increased the hepatic concentration of cytochrome P-450 and the activity of phase II drug metabolizing enzymes -glucuronyltransferase and glutathione-S-transferase) while it decreased the hepatic and increased the renal activity of phase I enzymes aminopyrine-N-demethylase and -4-hydroxylase. |
