The maintainance of these calcium oscillations depended on calcium mobilization from intracellular calcium stores by InsP3, since neomycin and 8-(diethylamino) octyl 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoate (TMB-8) abolished the oscillations. gamma-HCCH induced a transient calcium entry which triggered phospholipase C activation and the associated [Ca2+] i oscillations.
