The pyriproxyfen residue in the sample was extracted by acidified acetonitrile with the presence of sodium acetate buffer, and cleaned up by PSA (primary secondary amine) sorbent, and the separation was performed by ultrafast liquid chromatography (UFLC) on a CAPCELL PAK C18 column (50 mm x 2.0 mm, 3 microm) and the gradient elution of acetonitrile (containing 0.1% formic acid) and 2 mmol/L ammonium acetate solution (containing 0.1% formic acid) at a flow rate of 0.3 mL/min.

A rapid and sensitive liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry method has been developed for the routine analysis of buprofezin, bupirimate, hexaflumuron, tebufenpyrad, fluvalinate and pyriproxyfen in citrus fruits.
Extracts were obtained by matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) using C18 as dispersant and dichloromethane-methanol (80:20, v/v) as eluent.

15453417 Soler C, Manes J, Pico Y: Liquid chromatography-electrospray quadrupole ion-trap mass spectrometry of nine pesticides in fruits. J Chromatogr A. 2004 Sep 3;1048(1):41-9.

A liquid chromatographic method, with electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS-MS), has been developed for determining acrinathrin, carbosulfan, cyproconazole, lambda-cyhalothrin, kresoxim methyl, pyrifenox, pyriproxyfen, propanil, and tebufenpyrad in fruits.
The utility of the method is demonstrated by the analysis of crude extracts obtained by matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) using C18 as dispersant and dichloromethane-methanol as eluent, and by solid-liquid extraction (SLE) with ethyl acetate and anhydrous sodium sulfate.
