Eggs laid were collected daily during and after medication, and the antibiotic concentrations in the yolk and albumin were determined by the cup-plate method with Bacillus cereus var. mycoides ATCC 11778.

Diabetes Care. 1997 Nov;20(11):1642-6.

RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS: Using both the Micral-Test II test strip and the routine method for the determination of albumin concentration, we investigated 2,228 urine samples from diabetic patients.
The interference study showed an influence of oxytetracycline, leading to higher readings.

The in vitro susceptibilities of 16 Mycobacterium marinum strains to 11 antimicrobial agents were determined by the Dubos Tween albumin liquid dilution technique.
The results (MICs) were: 0.19-0.39 microgram/ml for dihydromycoplanecin A; 0.78-1.56 micrograms/ml for amikacin; 1.56-3.13 micrograms/ml for ofloxacin, norfloxacin and enoxacin; 1.56-6.25 micrograms/ml for minocycline; 1.56-25 micrograms/ml for sulfamethoxazole and sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim; 3.13-12.5 micrograms/ml for oxytetracycline; 25-200 micrograms/ml for trimethoprim; and 50-200 micrograms/ml for pipemidic acid.

We conclude that both technetium 99m-tagged macroaggregated albumin intraperitoneal radionuclide scan and stereoisomeric analysis of lactate in the peritoneal and pleural fluid are safe and reliable procedures to demonstrate the pleuroperitoneal communication.
The massive hydrothorax was successfully treated in two patients by pleurodesis induced by intrapleural administration of oxytetracycline combined with 10-days small volume intermittent peritoneal dialysis.

Interaction of tetracycline (TC) derivatives viz. oxytetracycline, doxycycline, demeclocycline and chlorotetracycline with bovine serum albumin (BSA) and concomitant changes in protein conformation were studied using fluorescence quenching and circular dichroism measurements.
Binding studies with the marker ligands, warfarin and bilirubin, elucidated site-I as a primary binding site for TCs on albumin.
