Plant Physiol. 2006 Oct;142(2):542-52. Epub 2006 Aug 18.

TIR1 is the recognition component of the Skp1-cullin-F-box complex associated with the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway involved in auxin signaling and has recently been shown to be a receptor for IAA and 2,4-D.

Results of this study indicated that 2,4-D induced the expression of auxin-response genes (IAA1, IAA13, IAA19) at both auxinic and herbicidal levels of application, whereas the TIR1 and ASK1 genes, which are associated with ubiquitin-mediated auxin signalling, were down-regulated in response to low concentrations of 2,4-D application.

To further examine auxin-mediated increases in proteolysis, the degradation of two other LUC fusion proteins, a non-cleavable ubiquitin LUC fusion (UB1-72::LUC) and SAUR15::LUC was determined in vivo in seedlings.
SAUR15::LUC half-life was not affected by pre-incubation with 2,4-D.

Hypocotyl explants from carrot and other species experience concomitant segregation events and differentiation of homeotic structures during the first 20 days of culture on 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D).
Results from probing sequences that correspond to different degrees of complexity, such as medium repetitive and unique sequences as well as sequences belonging to both classes (ribosomal cistrons, ubiquitin, actin, and chalcone synthase), consistently manifested a reduction in DNA levels during the acquisition of embryogenic competence.
