20037472 Sharabi-Schwager M, Samach A, Porat R: Overexpression of the CBF2 transcriptional activator in Arabidopsis counteracts hormone activation of leaf senescence. Plant Signal Behav. 2010 Mar 23;5(3).

Here we show that overexpression of CBF2 also suppressed chlorophyll breakdown and leaf senescence induced by the phytohormones abscisic acid (ABA), salicylic acid (SA) and methyl jasmonate (MeJA), which indicates its broader role in suppressing hormone-induced leaf senescence.

Transgenic rice overexpressing OsSKIPa exhibited significantly improved growth performance in the medium containing stress agents (abscisic acid, salt, or mannitol) and drought resistance at both the seedling and reproductive stages.
The OsSKIPa-overexpressing rice showed significantly increased reactive oxygen species-scavenging ability and transcript levels of many stress-related genes, including SNAC1 and rice homologs of CBF2, PP2C, and RD22, under drought stress conditions.

An Arabidopsis thaliana mutant, cryophyte, was isolated and found to have an enhanced cold stress-induction of the master regulator of cold tolerance, C-repeat binding factor 2 (CBF2), and its downstream target genes.
The mutant is also hypersensitive to the phytohormone abscisic acid.

19351418 Zhao B, Ge L, Liang R, Li W, Ruan K, Lin H, Jin Y: Members of miR-169 family are induced by high salinity and transiently inhibit the NF-YA transcription factor. BMC Mol Biol. 2009 Apr 8;10:29.

We also showed that these miR-169 members selectively cleaved one of the NF-YA genes, Os03g29760, which is a CCAAT-box binding transcription factor and participates in transcriptional regulation of large number genes.
The existence of a cis-acting abscisic acid responsive element (ABRE) in the upstream region of miR-169n (o) suggested that miR-169n (o) may be regulated by ABA.

Expression of the endogenous CBF genes was low at ambient temperature and enhanced upon low temperature (4 degrees C) treatment, first for CBF1, followed by CBF2, and about 2 d later by CBF3.

A total of 125 bp of the CBF2 promoter, which has previously been shown to be sufficient for cold-, mechanical-, and cycloheximide-induced expression, was also sufficient for ABA-induced expression.

GI gene was induced by cold stress, but not by salt, mannitol, and abscisic acid.
