19200157 | Li A, Zhang Z, Wang XC, Huang R: Ethylene response factor TERF1 enhances sensitivity in tobacco through activating the expression of sugar-related genes. J Integr Plant Biol. 2009 Feb;51(2):184-93. Previously, we revealed that overexpression of TERF1 in tobacco activates a cluster gene expression through interacting with GCC box and dehydration responsive element (DRE), resulting in enhanced sensitivity to abscisic acid (ABA) and tolerance to drought, and dark green leaves of mature plants, indicating that TERF1 participates in the integration of ethylene and osmotic responses. |

19261734 | Zhang Z, Zhang H, Quan R, Wang XC, Huang R: Transcriptional regulation of the ethylene response factor LeERF2 in the expression of ethylene biosynthesis genes controls ethylene production in tomato and tobacco. Plant Physiol. 2009 May;150(1):365-77. Epub 2009 Mar 4. The effects on ethylene synthesis were similar to those of another ERF protein, TERF1, because TERF1 and LeERF2/TERF2 have overlapping roles in the transcriptional regulation of ethylene biosynthesis in tobacco. Further research showed that LeERF2/TERF2 conservatively modulates ethylene biosynthesis in tobacco and that such regulation in tobacco is associated with the elongation of the hypocotyl and insensitivity to abscisic acid and during germination and seedling development. |
