An exclusively extracellular LCL was noted upon stimulation with aggregated immunoglobulin G, f-Met-Leu-Phe, phorbol myristate acetate, A23187, anti-CD36 antibodies, opsonized zymosan, and opsonized E. coli.

Sodium azide, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, and forskolin did not affect the cytolytic activity of RE2, while the treatment of target cells with cytochalasin B and D completely blocked the activity.

Sections were examined for the presence of immunoglobulin A (IgA), IgG, IgM, C3, and fibrinogen using fluorescein isothiocyanate-conjugated antisera and mounted with a ready-to-use permanent mounting medium containing an antifading reagent and sodium azide (DAKO, Glostrup, Denmark, S3023).

We developed an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) that detects filaria-specific immunoglobulin G4 antibodies in unconcentrated urine.
Urine samples with sodium azide could be kept at 37 degrees C for 4 weeks, and the time of urine collection did not influence ELISA results.

CD147 is a 50 000-60 000 MW glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily broadly expressed on haemopoietic cell lines and peripheral blood cells.
The U937 cell aggregation induced by CD147 mAb was also inhibited by ethylenediamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA), sodium azide and when incubated at 4 degrees.

Scand J Immunol. 1995 Aug;42(2):235-47.

MAdCAM-1 is a high endothelial venule adhesion molecule composed of immunoglobulin and mucin-like domains which binds the leucocyte integrin LPAM-1 (alpha 4 beta 7), and is largely responsible for the selective homing of lymphocytes to mucosal tissues.
Binding was blocked by pretreatment of cells with sodium azide, and EDTA, indicating that binding is an energy-dependent process which requires divalent cations.

Platelet aggregation induced by 4N1K was not completely inhibited by energy depletion with sodium azide and 2-deoxy-d-glucose, although ADP or collagen-induced platelet response was completely inhibited.
The truncated form of IAP with only the extracellular immunoglobulin-like (Ig) domain was sufficient for the activation of alphaIIbbeta3 in Chinese hamster ovary cells, although the IAP-mediated intracellular signaling was abolished, which was monitored by the absence of down-regulation of mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphorylation.
