9706740 | Reddix RA, Mullet D, Fertel R, Cooke HJ: Endogenous inhibits endothelin-1-induced secretion in guinea pig colon. Nitric Oxide. 1998;2(1):28-36. During neural blockade with tetrodotoxin, the scavenger, hemoglobin, and the synthase inhibitor, N omega-nitro- (L-NNA), reduced Isc. The reduction in Isc in response to hemoglobin was reversed by and blockers of secretion, including bumetanide and diphenylamine-2-carboxylic acid, but not by the potassium channel blockers, barium and tetraethylammonium, nor by amiloride, an epithelial sodium channel blocker. |

6743655 | Sullivan SG, Stern A: Membrane protein changes induced by tert-butyl hydroperoxide in red blood cells. Biochim Biophys Acta. 1984 Jul 25;774(2):215-20. Membrane glycoproteins were unaffected. t-Butyl hydroperoxide increased hemoglobin binding to ghosts. Butylated hydroxytoluene, diphenylamine and compounds that inhibit t-butyl hydroperoxide-induced red cell membrane lipid peroxidation, had no effect on t-butyl hydroperoxide-induced membrane protein changes. |

12778203 | : Carcinogenesis Bioassay of 2-Biphenylamine Hydrochloride (CAS No. 2185-92-4) in F344/N Rats and B6C3F1 Mice (Feed Study). Natl Toxicol Program Tech Rep Ser. 1982 Oct;233:1-159. The technical-grade 2-biphenylamine caused a dose-related decrease in hemoglobin concentration and a dose-related increase in leukocyte count in male and female mice in the 13-week study. It is present as a contaminant in 4-biphenylamine (a rubber antioxidant) and in diphenylamine (a dye intermediate, stabilizer for nitrocellulose explosives, and a topical agent for prevention of screwworm infestation in animals). |
