9435586 | Kirouac GJ, Ciriello J: Cardiovascular depressor responses to stimulation of substantia nigra and ventral tegmental area. Am J Physiol. 1997 Dec;273(6 Pt 2):H2549-57. Experiments were done in alpha-chloralose-anesthetized, paralyzed, and artificially ventilated rats to investigate the effect of stimulation of the substantia nigra (SN) and ventral tegmental area (VTA) on arterial pressure (AP) and heart rate (HR). Intravenous administration of the dopamine D2-receptor antagonist raclopride significantly attenuated both the MAP (70%) and the HR (54%) responses elicited by stimulation of the transitional region where the SNC merges with the lateral VTA (SNC-VTA region). |

9600656 | Vegh A, Papp JG, Semeraro C, Fatehi-Hasanabad Z, Parratt JR: The receptor agonist Z1046 reduces ischaemia severity in a canine model of coronary artery occlusion. Eur J Pharmacol. 1998 Mar 5;344(2-3):203-13. Since stimulation of dopamine D2 receptors inhibits release, and because cardiac release has been implicated in the genesis of early ischaemia-induced, life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias, the effect of Z1046 has been examined for its effects on coronary artery occlusion in chloralose urethane anaesthetised mongrel dogs. |
