Talanta. 1996 Jan;43(1):95-102. Formation of Cu (II) and Ni (II) complexes of 1,2,-dihydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone (DHA) has been studied by the spectrophotometric method. Both the metals form stable complexes of the type [M (LH)(3)](-) where LHH (1) represents DHA. The effective stability constant of the Cu (II) complex is 5.135 x 10 (29) while that of the Ni (II) complex is 3.446 x 10 (25). These complexes, unlike free DHA, do not catalyze the flow of electrons from NADH to molecular O (2) through NADH dehydrogenase. |
