We studied the effects of four commonly used insecticides (methylparathion, endosulfan, cypermethrin and fenvalerate) on P-glycoprotein isolated from multidrug-resistant cells.
All the pesticides stimulated P-glycoprotein ATPase activity, with maximum stimulation of up to 213% in a detergent-solubilized preparation, and up to 227% in reconstituted liposomes.

Potassium transport across synaptosomes was studied under the influence of two synthetic pyrethroids, (Permethrin, without the cyano group) and Cypermethrin (CPM, with the cyano group).
K+ transport is regulated by Na (+)-K (+)-ATPase, K (+)-ATPase and K+ channels.

Mortality in the hive, bee behavior, brood areas, supersedure, glucosemia, trehalosemia, and (Na+,K+) ATPase activity are many factors significantly affected over the 18-week test following sublethal treatment.

Cypermethrin intoxication resulted in a significant inhibition in the activities of total, Mg (+2), and Na (+)-K (+) ATPase enzyme and glycogen content, whereas it caused a significant induction in the levels of glycogen phosphorylase (a).

Effects of two classes of pyrethroids, permethrin and resmethrin (type I), cypermethrin and deltamethrin (type II), on basal (calmodulin-deficient) and calmodulin stimulated activities of Ca2+ ATPase and adenylate cyclase from rat brain were studied in vitro.

The partially purified Ha-Pgp ATPase was reconstituted into proteoliposomes and it was found that some insecticides, namely, monocrotophos, endosulfan, cypermethrin, fenvalerate, and methylparathion, stimulated the ATPase activity.
