The objective of this study was to determine the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), total antioxidant status (TAS) and release of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium, total lipids, totals proteins, glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides by porcine ovarian granulosa cells cultured in vitro after lead acetate administration.

At the end of the 30-day experiment, the rats were sacrificed and their blood was collected for the measurement of zinc, copper, iron, phosphorus, selenium, magnesium, calcium, manganese, and chromium; copper-zinc superoxide dismutase (SOD); manganese-superoxide dismutase (Mn-SOD); glutathione peroxidase (Se-GSH-Px); and catalase (CAT).

Immediately after experiment, the activities of Na (+) K (+)-ATPase and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in liver tissue were measured by assay kits of phosphorus and xanthine oxidase methods respectively.

19906143 Liu N, Ru YJ, Li FD: Effect of dietary phytate and phytase on metabolic change of blood and intestinal mucosa in chickens. J Anim Physiol Anim Nutr. 2009 Nov 11.

Diets containing phytate phosphorus (0.22% or 0.44%) with phytase supplementation (0, 500 or 1000 U/kg) were administrated to 504 Cobb chicks for 4 weeks.
Results showed that the serum concentrations of total cholesterol (T-CHO), albumin, albumin/globulin, total superoxide dismutase (T-SOD), total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) and glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) were decreased by 9-41% in high phytate diets (p < 0.05) and the concentrations of blood P, K, Fe, Cu, Zn and Mg were decreased by 4-14% for birds fed high phytate diets (p < 0.05), whereas inclusion of phytase compensated these adverse influences.

Sodium and potassium concentrations were increased, but calcium, phosphorus and iron levels were significantly reduced in the serum.
Significant inhibition of peroxidase and superoxide dismutase activities was observed in liver tissue.

In the case of M. hangchowensis, in comparison with normal K concentration, K-limitation induced a significant reduction in net photosynthetic rate (P (n)), soluble protein content, and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, but an increase in malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration.
Critical values of N (nitrogen):K and K:P (phosphorus) ratios in the shoots indicated that limitation in acquiring K occurred under K-limited conditions for M. hangchowensis but not for M. dianthera.

The Zn content increased in plants under external Zn stress, while concentrations of phosphorus, copper, iron, manganese and magnesium reduced significantly, especially in roots.
Compared with controls, NADH oxidase and peroxidase (POD) activity increased in leaves and roots of plants under high Zn, but superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase and ascorbate peroxidase activities decreased.

However, the activities of superoxide dismutase and protease decreased immediately upon exposure to ozone.
During ozonation, the content of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus in the sludge matrix decreased, while the content of these elements in the micro-solids and supernatant gradually increased.
